Okay so evidently supporters of Bernie and Hillary have lost their minds attacking each other. I've noticed but not really because right now state and local government has been taking up the majority of my "serious" brain space. Also let's face it the primaries are more or less done, and there is no way in hell I'm voting for Mr. Thinks Everybody Should Have Nukes.
So here is a brief list of other non-goofball stuff that's been on my mind.
- Detroit Public School Scandals - Look nobody had any illusions that the school system worked but over the two last months it's been one scandal after another.
- Detroit Public School Bailout - So for the last month or so I've had my dander up because there are two plans. One by the State senate and one by the house. I view the one from the house as nothing but foolishness but for a lot of reasons when the two compromise it will probably be closer to the house bill. And that's going lead to me pissing and moaning about our broken political system for months to come.
- Regional Transportation - So RTA is doing a thing at Lawrence Tech on Tuesday. I don't know what they are going to say but it's got to be better than what we got.
- Bathrooms - It's been brewing for a while but I was hoping Michigan would maybe possibly be smart enough to not get into a stupid fight about transgender bathrooms. I was wrong. Horribly horribly wrong.
- Budget Time - We're heading into the end of the fiscal year so almost everybody, states governments, municipal governments, school boards, organizations, is making budgets and the budget is more or less a statement about what all of these folks actually want to accomplish in the next year.
- The Mackinac Conference - Love it or hate it everybody is going and they're livestreaming it this year so I might as well pay attention.

While I'm At it Might As Well
- Zorro Rules
- Robin Hood Rules
- King Arthur Rules
- Steven Universe Rules... but I have to admit sometimes I wish the show would focus more on the giant mythos it's created and not so much family dynamics. Then again if it did it wouldn't be Steven Universe.
- Bring Back Mighty Max and Pirates of The Dark Water from the Dead
- A Pup named Scooby Doo gets way too much hate and can be kind of funny.
- Speaking of which I am behind on my Scooby.
- Just because the sequels are... imperfect doesn't mean that The Matrix and Curse of the Black Pearl aren't pretty great.
- The entire point of Casey Jones is that he's kind of an idiot that has no business going up against ninjas, robots and aliens. He's just a guy with a couple of baseball bats. I love him but I hope to god the movies don't try to make him more competent than he really is in order to make him seem more superficially bad ass.
- As much as I go on about Turtles and all matter of other stuff I have to admit a lot of the gen x nostalgiafest deals with stuff I was too young to form a real emotional attachment for
- That being said Extreme Ghostbusters had the coolest damn intro.
- You know what did though? Disney. And I don't like it Disney controls too much of the stuff I like. Seriously it's starting to scare me a little. I am a slave to the mouse.
- School of Rock was a good movie. Maybe not one of the all time greats but it was a fun little time killer that had the bonus of being the thing that made me want to pick up a guitar so it rules. Not that it stuck or that I ever played it well but hey I had some fun.
- Which is to say as far as revivals/remakes go that's one that by all means should be on my radar but thus far has slipped under it. I need to remedy that.
- That said, I kind of think Beck is the gritter more honest less commercial version of a School of Rock the TV show.
- Why is Taylor Swift doing spots for Apple music? I'm not trying to diss her I'm just wondering when and why she changed her mind. There is a story there.
- While I'm on the topic. I really really like those Pandora spots.
- It kind of makes me want to watch Before the Music Dies.
- Or It Might Get Loud
- Or Sonic Highways
- Or It Came From Detroit
- Or Decline of Western Civilization
- That said a lot of the rock and roll methos is a lie. It's the damn Sasquatch.
- But nothing will keep me from believing in Slash.
